Team Studio Network
While most productions that used to require a team can now be done solo
on a Broadcast Pix system, some especially complex or fast moving
productions still benefit from a team. For team operation just add more
hard or soft control panels to the network. Team members can be
anywhere, in the studio, in the back room, in another facility, even at
home.
A Two Operator Studio
The studio shown at the right is set up for use by one or two
operators, depending on the production. The principle operator uses the
Broadcast Pix hard-panel, and views their content on the adjacent VGA
monitor. When the graphics content grows, a dedicated graphics
operators sits at the far right monitor, which shows the Inscriber CG
application, and a portion of a Broadcast Pix soft-panel. The only
options needed to support a second operator are dual monitor support,
the soft-panel, and a second monitor.
A Network of Panels for Complex Productions
Some
productions are so fast paced that more then two operators are desired.
In general, more panels can be added to the network and the tasks
divided up. For example, one operator can work the switcher, one a
first channel of CG, one a second channel of CG, one the first channel
of DDR, one the second channel of DDR, one the first channel of stills,
etc.
Hard-panels are network appliances. They just plug into the
standard Ethernet network. Soft-panels open in a Microsoft web browser,
and so they can connect to the system by pointing their browser at it.
The illustration at the right shows the principle operator and graphics
operator on a dual monitor as in the above two operator studio. A
second hard-panel operator station is at the right. In the back room is
a remote aux panel and a soft-panel, which operates on any backroom
computer, even a laptop. A second soft-panel operator station is also
shown. The multiple panels also provides redundancy, as if any one
should ever stop another can be used to control all of its functions.
