Mica 2000
Video Control Center™
Maximum Mica
The Mica 2000 is largest member of the family, which features the wide 2000 control panel. This panel has 16 PixButtons per row to access more sources quickly, 6 key layer buttons, and a dedicated row of 16 Fluent-Macro PixButtons and an expanded device control section with dedicated selectors for each of Mica’ 7 banks of internal devices, plus 4 additional wildcard devices. Mica 2000 gives you faster access to more controls.
Like all Mica models, Mica 2000 is a Video Control Center with an integrated switcher , clip store and CG Graphics inside. For a full description of Mica 2000’s capabilities, see the Benefits Tab below.
Benefits of a Mica 2000 Video Control Center
1. Control Surface for today's content: video, files, and more
Capture the spontaneity that is live production, with the most flexible and powerful control center:
-
Mica 2000 switcher controls: The professional switcher layout accesses up to 16 sources directly. There are controls for 6 key layers.
- Mica 2000 device controls: The patented bank of device controls enable you to intimately control the built-in clip store, animation store, and multiple graphics stores. The PixPad lets you access any clip or graphic, and there’s a 3D joystick, knobs and motion buttons. This same control bank also lets you control external devices as well, such as robotic cameras, recorders or streamers. The panel has 11 device selection buttons.
- PixButtons: Broadcast Pix patented PixButtons show the device and file-name of each source and key layer, and on the PixPad. Switch with confidence.
-
Fluent-View™: Enjoy the most powerful heads-up display in
the industry - called Fluent-View, as it’s fluent in both video and
file-based content. See all video sources in crisp, full motion. See
four outputs: Program, Preview, PowerAux and Clean Feed. See file-based
sources and their content libraries. See each of your key layers in a
window. Add clocks, counters and timers.
- Customizable Fluent-View: unlike ordinary multi-views,
Mica’s Fluent-View is fully customizable across two monitors. Choose
what windows you want, the size you want, where you want them. Even
replicate a window, like program output, on both monitors.
- Fluent Macros: The 2000 panel has a dedicated row of 16 Macro buttons and 16 more are accessible with shift. Add one-button magic to your production with the only memory system that combines switcher moves with recalls of specific clips and graphics. Add cameras moves as well. Triple box interviews. Graphic transitions. Fluent Macros can make a novice look like a pro.
- Virtual Sets: Easily create powerful virtual sets from green screens on up to 8 cameras, and then add 3 key layers on top. Use included sets, or use the image editor to make a virtual set out of any picture, transporting you anywhere.
- Control External Devices: Whether you want to drive robotic cameras, a multi-format stream, an external video recorder or server, or even an audio mixer, use your control surface to reach out and touch something.
- Fluent Watch-folders: Instantly access new clips and
graphics during a show. Whether you’re editing last-minute clips or
creating quick graphics, simply drag them into a Fluent Watch Folder,
and you’ll be notified of each addition right on the Fluent-View status
bar.
- Fluent Rapid CG 2 (optional): Automate your CG by linking it to a database, RSS feeds, action buttons, EZNews system, or a Daktronics Controller for Scoreboards.
- Dual Control: Use PowerAux to control a second composition on a secondary output to the Internet or to a second screen.
- Distribute Control: While one operator can create great video, you can add seats for a special show adding a graphics operator, or additional operators on SoftPanels running on an iPad, iPhone, Android or laptop.
- Non-Stop On-Air Control: Broadcast Pix systems are known for stability so you are always on air. The panel has redundant power standard, and if the panel should ever stop, you can still switch on the Fluent-view or SoftPanel.
2. Complete Studio
Mica starts with a great switcher, and then seamlessly adds the other parts of a control room on a high performance system running Windows 7 for exceptional file management and networking.
-

Switcher: The HD switcher has 8 SDI inputs, and 6 SDI
outputs, plus two DVI outputs. Each input can be 1080i, 720p or SD, and
frame and aspect synchronizers are built-in. With 6 key layers and
DVEs, go ahead and pile on layers of Picture-in-Picture boxes, graphics,
and animations. And low constant delay means great live events.
- Clip Store: The integrated Clip Store offers up to 30 hours
of H.264 or ProRes clips, with audio. Clips auto-start on transition,
and can auto-advance to the next clip. Plus, there are 1 or 2 channels
of animations for transitions, backgrounds and moving titles.
- Graphics: Every production needs titles. A
broadcast-quality Harris Inscriber GS CG is included (Chyron Lyric PRO
CG optional). Fill four channels of graphic stores from your CG, or
import graphics from anywhere.
- Device Control: Whether you want to drive robotic cameras, a
multi-format stream, an external video recorder or server, or even an
audio mixer, use your control surface to reach out and touch something.
- Low Constant Delay: Always maintain lip-sync, even projecting to live events.
3. Low Cost of Ownership
Exceptional integration and control leads to surprisingly low cost of ownership.
- Broadcast Pix Systems are a fraction of the cost of buying a separate switcher, Clip Store and Graphics System
- Exceptional control means that fewer operators are needed to create compelling video
- You can save over $100,000 per year over a conventional control room from savings in equipment, space, power and staffing
- A modular family of products means it is easier to grow and economically upgrade to larger Broadcast Pix systems.
If you’re ready to create more compelling live video with less gear,
less money and with less staff, your nearest Broadcast Pix dealer
can show you the powerful Mica 2000 Video Control Center. Join the growing
number of professionals world-wide who rely on Broadcast Pix
