Slate 100 Switcher

Easy LIVE TV

slate100_workstation.jpgThe Slate 100 is a complete live video production studio that is so affordable and easy to use that anyone can create great looking live television. It includes a switcher, CG, Multi-View and clip store.  See workflow whitepaper.

So Easy to Make Great Looking Video

The switcher is controlled from either the custom keyboard or the multi-view. If you display the multi-view on a touch screen then you can just touch the camera you want to bring it to preview. Touch the keys to add a graphic. Then just touch preview to bring composition to air. It’s so easy to learn that you can quickly teach a novice to create great looking live TV.

The Slate 100 includes a custom keyboard version of the 1000’s panel. It provides the tactile feel and fast-action switching which many prefer in live production. And it can instantly shift into normal keyboard mode for use with the CG and other applications. It’s optional on larger Slate models. custom_keyboard.jpg

Broadcast Production Quality

Unlike other integrated live video production systems, the Slate 100 doesn’t compromise on traditional switcher features:
  • Pristine 10-bit video with support for 4 to 8 live SDI inputs and 10- bit conversion of analog composite, S and YUV
  • Non-stop on-air video even if the workstation stops
  • No surprises, as monitors and PixButtons always show what content is on every source and key.
  • Preview/program architecture in a familiar layout on SoftPanel, or optional physical panel, or drive the intuitive multi-view.
  • Very low delay through the system for live events  Image

HD/SD or HD-ready

The Slate 100 HD model is the most cost effective HD live video production studio. It is a fraction of the cost of assembling an HD control room out of an HD switcher, CG, clip store and multi-view. Slate is so well integrated the one person can run it, and yet still create compelling live television that looks like it was created by a team. Slate HD I/O includes 1080i, 720p, SD, DVI and VGA. The Slate 100 SD is HD-ready. Use it today in SD, with either SD SDI or analog I/O, or a combination of both. Then whenever you want to upgrade to HD in the future, you can upgrade your switcher by just changing a board, for just $4,000.

khq.gifIt was critical to have an integrated production switcher that could be managed entirely by a single operator, as opposed to our main production control room which requires a director, technical director, and audio person.
