New User Interface As shown above, the most powerful Multi-View is now the prettiest too. The Fluent Multi-View is renowned for monitoring both video and file-based information, and showing key monitors. Now V8 adds a clean look that is easier to read and customize. When displayed on a large wall monitor the text automatically grows larger. All elements are uniform, including Fluent Macros. New streamlined menus make set-up faster, by giving rapid access to all systems settings. And the new look extends throughout the user interface, including the PixMaster show creation software.
| Larger text on larger monitors | Enhanced Fluent Multi-View Customization V8 makes it easy to completely customize your layout. The standard layouts are great, but you can optimize them for your use, such as removing unused windows and using the space to make the other windows larger. Elements scale by just grabbing their border and stretching. Now all elements can scale, even the PixPad, so you can make whatever arrangement you want. | Streamlined Menus | And with V8 source names automatically update on the Multi-View when Slate I/O, iBoB or Router Assignments are saved. Customize Colors - Change the standard gray on black colors to whatever you want - even pick any color from your production with an “eye dropper”. And now font labels can be grey, white or blue in color | Customize Colors | Enhanced Layout Tools- New auto-alignment tools make it easy to get a clean, easy to read monitor. And V8 makes this easy to do on up to 4 monitors. | New Alignment Tools | Enhanced Fluent Clip Store V8 enhances the powerful Fluent Clip Store, which holds up to 200 hours of clips with audio. Now: 2 at Once: With V8, you can play 2 HD clips at once, 1 from each channel of the clip store (the second channel is standard on the Slate 5000, 3000 and 2100 and optional on the Slate 1000 and 100.) 3-point-loops – Now you can set an added mark point on any clip or animations, to create a 3 point loop. For example, an animations can now enter from off screen, and then loop from this interim point, just like you see on high end network shows. Hot Punch – Now you can cleanly change HD clips on air, without a pause. Improved Scrubbing – Slate let’s you scrub clips from a knob on the control panel, to rapidly find any point in the clip. V8 improves scrubbing performance on compressed HD clips. Rapid Access - Access to the second channel of clips has been improved on the 1 M/E control panel used on the Slate 1000, 2100 and 3000. You can still shift the clip button to access the second channel, or if you prefer in V8 you can assign one of the panel’s three wildcard device selection buttons to select the Clips2 channel with one push. (The Slate 5000 has a dedicated button for Clip2 access).
| Clip Store 3 Point Clip loop control | Enhanced Fluent Macros V8 enhances Fluent Macros, the unique memory system that combines switcher moves and files to create high impact live video. Macros were introduced in Slate Version 7.3, and have since been exploited to created powerful live events, like the biggest “Red Carpet” shows in the world with compact Slate systems, which replaced entire trucks of gear at last years events. Now in V8, many small enhancements to Macros have been made which add up to an even more powerful creative tool: ● Now snapshots recall device names, like clip channel 1, even when remapped to another switcher button. | More on Macros used in Red Carpet productions | ● Snapshots recall file and switcher content at once, enabling even better virtual sets with the integrated file stores. ● The Macros window can be sized smaller than in 7.3 ● More view options in macros to customize player/editor ● Macros show source names as well instead of just Input 1, etc. ● Macros can show offline items depending on what options are installed | Source name in Macros | Enhanced Fluent Graphics And V8 makes improvements to the Fluent Graphics, especially to rolls and crawls created on the built-in Harris Inscriber CG. Enhance Rolls and Crawls – V8 improves playback of rolls and crawls, and provides better control over their speed. A counter now shows the count down time. And crawls can crawl from left to right, or from right to left, to support all world languages, including Semitic languages. Rapid Access – As with the second channel of clips described above, access to the second channel of stills and CG graphics has been improved on the 1 M/E control panel used on the Slate 1000, 2100 and 3000 . You can still use shift to access a second channel, and now if you prefer in V8 you can assign one of the panel’s three wildcard device selection buttons to select Stills2 or CG2 with one push. (The Slate 5000 has a dedicated buttons for these). | Roll/Crawl Controls | Telemetrics Camera Control New software option (#803) enables a Slate panel to control the line of Telemetrics robotic equipment including Pan/Tilt heads and pedestals. Use any brand of camera. The Slate control panel selects preset positions with PixButtons, and manually controls tilt, pan, zoom with its joystick. Knobs control iris and focus. Motion buttons control pedestal height. Control can be fully integrated with Broadcast Pix Fluent Macros, and with Telemetrics Studio software. | Pan/Tilt Heads | The Broadcast Pix product is an impressive and efficient production tool. It is able to control Telemetrics equipment stand alone and also in combination with our Telemetrics Studio Software application. We believe the cost savings to the customer will be substantial.” - Anthony E. Cuomo VP & General Mgr Telemetrics Inc. | Pedestals | ViewCast Streamer Control New software option (#860) adds integrated streaming without burdening system reliability. Enables control of any ViewCast streamer from any Slate control panel. On the panel, select the streamer with the device controls, then select up to 12 different streaming groups (MPEG, Flash, AVI, Real, WM2, etc.). Each group name appears on the panel’s PixButton. Start or stop each stream, and view status from the panel. Even integrate control with Fluent Macros. The control is over a TCP/IP network, so the streamer can be remote from Slate. The combined capabilities of Broadcast Pix and ViewCast create a very compelling solution for producing and delivering live video to the web and mobile devices. Now our mutual customers can automate content encoding in the wide variety of formats supported by ViewCast encoding appliances.” - Dave Stoner President ViewCast, Inc. | Internet Easy, Affordable Streaming with ViewCast 2120 | | ViewCast multi-stream model |
